Rumblepad 2 Gamepad

Reviewed by Angie Kibiloski

PC games require many different skills, not the least of which is mastering the keyboard controls. Even beyond the fact that maneuvering a character effectively with nothing more than arrow keys can be tricky at best, keyboard controls just aren't practical for many in depth commands. Some games have so many keystroke controls that you either have to have a photographic memory, or make a dozen tiny little labels to paste to your keyboard. For this reason, some games are just not that easy to play on the PC. An easy solution to that problem is to buy a gamepad controller, which eliminates the need for the keyboard, and provides a feel closer to console game controls, like you would find with an Xbox, Playstation, etc.

Well, if you are going to buy a gamepad, you might as well go with the best, and that is Logitech, hands down. And why go with an average, boring controller, when you can have one with vibration feedback to really put you in the game. The Rumblepad 2 (Retail: $29.95) is the way to go for comfort, usability, and fun. Ergonomically designed to rest neatly in your hands, with a specially textured rubber grip, you can play comfortably for hours. The easily programmable buttons are conveniently positioned to be both familiar and customizable. There are also both a directional pad control and two analog joystick controls to further personalize your experience. The Rumblepad 2 uses a USB 2 cable for fast and easy hook up. It is also pleasing to look at, in either a soft, brushed metallic blue with black accents, or all black. The coolest thing though, is the vibration feedback feature. With this option turned on, you feel the force of the game right in your hands. No longer are explosions, car crashes, and direct hits just things to be seen on the screen, but also to be felt, like you are inside the action. The Rumblepad 2 is also available in a cordless variety (Retail: $39.99) to free your gameplay up even further.

Let's face it, some games are easier to play on consoles, and when played on the PC they lose some usability. But with Logitech's Rumblepad 2 gamepad with vibration feedback, you can get that usability back and play the games like they were made to be played. Fighting games, racing games, first person shooters, and more, can all be made more exciting and fun with this gamepad controller. What are you waiting for, get in the game, feel the action, and take back control of your gaming experience.
