Get the Most from Yourself

Go to front page

This is the sixteenth article in a series from the book titled Get The MOST From Yourself, by Terrance Kibiloski, copyright 1996.

The human system is similar to the personal computer system, with three major parts - the body (hardware), the mind (software), and the spirit, or soul, (user).

We are spirits having a human experience!

To maintain the human system it's important to understand:

If you can understand the similarity between the computer system and the human system, you are on your way to getting the MOST from yourself. Let's now look at some important principles.

Last month, we focused on the power of positive thinking. This month, we summarize many of the principles we covered over the past several months.

Remember, our spirit controls our mind and, in turn, our mind controls our body. This interaction requires a healthy body, mind and spirit for us to get the MOST from ourselves.

Our body is a walking miracle with its complex design and its natural healing ability, but it must be in good shape for its natural healing ability to work properly. This requires the five essential elements our body needs for good health - fresh air, good water, nourishing food, adequate exercise, and proper rest.

Our mind is like a computer and will consistently perform the same actions it was programmed to perform in any given situation. It reacts very quickly to reprogramming.

Our spirit requires unconditional love and forgiveness to soar to new heights. To successfully fly as an eagle, you must have unconditional love as your wings, and unconditional forgiveness to strengthen your wings. But, this is only possible if you have the willingness to change.

So, if you are having trouble flying like an eagle, look for blame and bitterness in your life, and replace them with love and forgiveness. Also, change the way you think about people and events, only allowing positive thoughts into your reality. Begin today.

The fact that our spirit controls our mind and, in turn, our mind controls our body, is an age old principle that can be found in the Bible, and other spiritual books, as well as in the teachings of noted leaders. In fact, everything we teach you in this book is nothing new. They are simply principles that have been echoed throughout the ages.

What we try to do for you is fit various principles together to help you see the important interconnection between body, mind and spirit, so you can make positive changes in your own life. As many of our seminar attendees tell us, "I already knew many of the things you pointed out, I just never realized how each one influences the other."

It is important to realize that in our human experience, our body, mind, and spirit work as a team. If one team member is weak, the entire experience suffers. Failure to understand this is the primary reason so many people fail to get the MOST from themselves during this human experience; and many times end up with unfulfilled goals and failed businesses, relationships, and spiritual endeavors.

In business, many people let the body run down and pay little attention to the spirit. In sports, many people fail to realize the impact the spirit has over the mind. Even in spiritual endeavors, many people fail to realize how influential the mind can be on their behaviors, and how important it is to maintain their own good health. If you look at truly successful people, who live long and happy lives, you will find a wonderful balance between their body, mind and spirit.

It is time to get balance in your life, and get the MOST from YOURSELF!

Much more next month. J
