Unburden Your Soul To The New Machine

If you need to cleanse your soul but feel strapped to your PC, you need not defer your soulful needs one minute longer. The U.K. nondenominational Christian radio station, London's Premier Christian Radio, has launched an online confessional. The site gives sinners the option of either considering their falterings in silence, or typing them into a form provided on the site. "You are assured that all that you type remains on your computer and will not be transmitted in any way to any one else," the site says. "This is between you and God and your privacy is totally respected." The site, which launched in February, reportedly logged 1 million visitors within 72 hours of its introductions. The Confessor site arose from a brainstorming session of Premier Christian Radio executives about how Web surfers could use the Internet in a Christian way, according to a press release. Rating The Faith-Based Groups

Now that the president is emphasizing faith-based groups as a source of philanthropy to replace governmental programs, it probably is a good idea to keep an eye on the quality of those faith-based groups. Charlotte, N.C.-based Wall Watchers says it will provide five-star financial efficiency ratings on more 400 of the largest U.S. faith-based groups. The ratings, according to a press release on the subject, are designed to help donors make better-informed giving decisions when donating to faith-based groups. "Lord willing," the site says, "these efforts will stimulate the adoption of best practices and encourage progress and innovation within the world of Christian ministries as donors become interested in the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization."
